The story begins with a cave-in trapping the king, whose mission is to navigate through the dungeon’s depths to find and rescue the queen. Players must gather materials by mining stones and other resources, build and upgrade their mining operations, and craft tools to improve efficiency. Strategic decisions around resource use and crafting contribute to the player’s progress.

Along the way, the environment offers atmospheric dungeon settings, challenging players to survive against various foes including dwarves and orcs. While combat and defense are part of the experience, exploration and careful planning are essential to advance. The in-game currency, coins, is earned through activities like mining and used to craft special items or unlock buildings that help with progression.

Players can customize their gameplay style by focusing on gathering, crafting, or building defenses, and they can disable advertisements via in-game purchases for a smoother experience. Music enhances the mood but is not necessary for success. Overall, King Dungeon combines elements of survival, crafting, and adventure within a dungeon-themed action-RPG format.
